In Ventura, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across California do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11:30 am–2:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (805) 643-7115. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is capriccioofventura.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 771 reviews, which is a strong result for an italian restaurant in Ventura and suggests consistent service.

Ventura is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Ventura follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Wonderful wait staff, gifted chefs and traditional recipes. We enjoy the cozy ambiance of this old school, authentic Italian eatery so enjoy dining in. However, we order takeout often because it's right there on the corner of Main St. & Palm St. with a few 24 min. and Handicap parking spots . Easy-peazy and so yummy for our tummies! Great quality, made from scratch, and sooooo delish!!! Lunch or dinner, the in-restaurant menu has more than what's offered online incl. soup of the day and deserts. For easiest, closest parking, arrive before or after meal rush. They close for a couple hours after lunch so be sure and check hours of op.. Lastly, if you don't like your marinara sauce to be creamy, be sure and ask to omit the cream cheese. Every menu item I've tried incl. the risotto dishes and pizzas are amazing!!!

We made a dinner reservation for outdoor seating at 5:45. When we arrived, the restaurant was not too busy. The outdoor seating was just a couple picnic tables on the street. We were told to take the table outside and wait for service. The bus lady came to wipe the table. When my husband asked the lady to wipe the seat, she refused and said "I only wipe the table" in an angry tone. She looked annoyed when I asked for a cup of hot water and said your waiter will get you the water. We waited another 10-15 minutes, no one came to take order or check if we need anything. This is terrible service and lack of service. We left and went to another restaurant close by.

Hmm… I have very mixed feelings about this place. I think I might need to come back one more time to give it a fair second review. I came here on a Sunday with my boyfriend for a late lunch / early dinner. When you first walk in, the place seems pretty empty and has a slightly rustic, older look to it—which honestly isn’t too surprising for an Italian restaurant. What did surprise me though was how busy it got around 5pm. The place filled up quickly. As soon as we sat down, the host brought out bread and it was delicious. You could tell it was fresh, warm, and super tasty—it definitely left us wanting more. For our starter, we wanted to try a little bit of everything so we ordered the Capriccio sampler, which comes with bruschetta, scampi, and calamari. The scampi was good but I do think it needed a bit more flavor. The bruschetta was actually really good and I loved that the bread wasn’t soggy, which I always appreciate. The calamari wasn’t my favorite—it wasn’t as crispy as I usually like it—but it wasn’t terrible either. Next we ordered the Dominic pizza and OMG… this was the star of the night. The pizza was out of this world! It was creamy, packed with flavor, and honestly

Food was decent- ok- the Pear salad was amazing. The pizzas- Sophia & Gina not so much. Must have changed owners since I remembered it better. Chicken parm was good. Pastas- so-so. Service was on the dry side.

I stop for lunch this Sunday, I expected to be better en food and service. Food was ok, it looks and taste reheated and not fresh. The waitress a young girl made me feel in rush, she was asking many times if we were fine, and she was walking like running at every table, I just wanted to finish my meal and leave. I won't come back here.
